Updates and troubleshooting
Update L2Evolution, recover after a failed update and get help with common problems.
Update the client
Close the game and choose Check for updates in the launcher. Keep your internet connection available while the update downloads and completes.
If an update fails, note the message, check your connection and available disk space, then retry through the launcher. Keep files from each version together.
Restore a previous version
If a new version causes problems, close the game and use Restore previous version in the launcher. Your personal settings remain separate from the client version.
Include the version that failed and the error message when reporting the problem, even if restoring the previous version lets you play again.
Game-folder errors
Select the complete High Five installation root. Check that System and Textures are present, the drive is accessible and the installation is complete. If you move the game files, choose the new folder through Game resources.
For missing textures, objects or sounds, note the location and affected object. Keep resources from different chronicles separate.
Startup and display problems
Check the exact error and make sure your graphics driver supports Vulkan. If a display change makes the picture unusable, allow its confirmation timer to restore the previous mode.
Back up your preferences before resetting them. Start with the setting related to the problem rather than deleting your whole profile.
Report a crash or gameplay issue
Open Crash reports in the launcher to find your local reports. Use Send latest crash report when you choose to share the latest report with the team.
For gameplay problems, use Bug Report in game or the Discord bug-tracker. Describe what happened, where it happened, the client version and how to reproduce it. Review screenshots and logs before sharing them, and never include your password.
Remove the application
Exit the game and launcher, then remove the separate L2Evolution installation and its shortcuts. Back up preferences or reports you want to keep. Leave your original High Five folder in place if you still use it.
Removing local application files does not delete your game account or characters.
