Installation and first launch

Keep the application separate from your High Five installation, then configure the resource folder.

Before installing

You need Windows x64, a Vulkan-capable graphics driver, a complete High Five installation you are entitled to use, and the application files supplied for your L2Evolution build. Follow the instructions accompanying that build for any additional runtime files.

Keep the application files together in their own folder. Do not extract them over the original game's System directory. Obtain application releases through the project's published announcements.

Configure your High Five folder

The client supports this command from its application folder:

L2Evolution.exe configure "D:\Games\HighFive"

Replace the example with your installation root. The command checks for System and Textures and saves the selected location in the application profile. If the folder is rejected, check that you selected the installation itself and that the drive is available.

Open the client

Use the supplied L2Evolution shortcut or the launcher included with your release. The direct client command is:

L2Evolution.exe view-login

For a launcher-managed installation, keep its directory layout intact. The launcher selects the installed client version; moving an executable out of that layout can prevent launch or verification.

Enter your game account name and password on Login. Select the available world and character, then use the displayed confirmation to enter. Character creation and account availability depend on the connected server.

If Login shows an error, record its exact wording before retrying. Include the build version from the application window title when asking for help. Connection and compatibility explains which settings belong to the connection.
